it was amy's vet appointment this afternoon, and we were dreading it.because although she had started eating she was sick last night, and she seemed weaker than the last few days.so off we went with trepidation.she had her exam and her blood taken and we were asked to wait in the waiting room.we sat nerously, untill the vet came out with a smile on his face and called us into his surgery, and and told us amy's pcv had gone up to 34 from 26 last wednesday.so all the prayers and love and hugs from you guys must be working,so please please keep it up.he's cut her pred down to 50 mgs daily so she might start and feel a little better in her self. thanks again for all your positive thoughts and i'll keep you posted.

John, these are fantastic news! Yepee!!! Just make sure the Prednisone is reduced SLOWLY. It is usually recommended to reduce by 25-33% every 3-4 weeks once the dog is stable. By doing it too fast, you are risking a relapse. Keep spoiling that girl, she is a tooper and a real fighter! Best wishes, Brigitte

john, That is wonderful news. How much does Amy weigh? As terrible as the pred is on their bodies you don't want to try to wean them too soon. Another thing it seems like you are having problems with her keeping things down. You have to be very careful with any foods that are too rich ie: gravy and any people type food as you do not want to bring on pancreatitis. Congrats to you and dear Amy, hopefully it is all positive from here. Penny
