Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Aiyanas Vet visit yesterday

We waited for 3.5 hours to be seen, it was terrible for all of us and very hard on the old girl. We were finally seen by my usual Vet, who worked so hard with Wolfie. He did not feel another CBC was necessary yet. I did not get a chance to read all of her blood work, but what I saw and he discussed with me looked bad, but not that bad. It is regenerative... her white count is good... so not like Wolfies being through the roof. He is leaning more towards treating it as AIHA OR IMHA, he really does not see evidence of a tumor, at least not in the abdominal cavity, that would cause the type of bleeding she had. We will just try to do our best for her.

On another note, when I discussed the grand mal seizure Hurley our young Sibe had, and the evidence that there may have been others he immediately put him on phenobarbitol. He will be a bit drugged up this week getting used to the meds, but in our situation that may not be such a bad thing LOL.

blessings,

Julie
