Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - A tribute to Macy

Hello all...so many of you were there for me when I needed you. I lost Macy on January 26th of this year. I also have a new son (born last October) so many are congratulating me on my first "Father's Day"....guess they don't know that I was a father for years, just a different kind of father.

Anyways, I want to thank Aden,Effie,Cheryl,Ron,Tammy,Bonnie,Barb,Elizabeth,Karen,Lisa,Theresa,Jaime,Josh (who inspired me with his own video tribute),Jack,Jess,Penny,Julie-Australia,Susie,Linda,Lucy,Kathleen-Scotland,Rita,Melissa,Mrs. Gates, and Brenda who all wrote very kind words to me in what was honestly the hardest time of my life.

Extra special thanks to Kelly in Redding who lost Coco at the same time, Silka with Riley, Brigette with Kahlu, Johnnny, Samantha, Mardi, and especially Joanne for all she does.

Here is a link if you want to check it out. I am certainly not a professional movie maker. Just some guy who loved his dog a whole lot....

Darren
That was indeed a very moving tribute to Macy, it really showed me how very much she was loved and what a wonderful life she shared with you and your family.
When Dean us old enough this video will give him a chance to get to know Macy a little better and show him what a kind and compassionate Dad he is blessed with.

Thanks so much for sharing this tribute to Macy.

Happy Father's Day.

Darren, that was beautiful! The love you had for Macy was beyond what most would expect. A dog would be lucky to have you!

Darren,

What an awesome video. A great tribute to a very special girl. Let me tell you I was sobbing by the end of it. It so much reminds me of Toqua and myself. My first dog, and first living being I was responsible for. Walks every day, rain or shine, snow or sleet, and my never have another like her. I was lucky to have Toqua for 10 years (and counting), and it has been so hard watching her struggle through all this. It is difficult to know that there is nothing more you can do for your dear friend. I too hope that you again find that irreplaceable bond with another four legged. Would be a lucky hound.

Thanks again for sharing.

Darren,
Awesome tribute to your little girl. Were those pictures taken at El Dorado? I always think I need to take more pictures and always regret not having done so when we lose another dog. I hope in making the video you were able to smile and remember all the good times with Macy and the awful ones were put to the back of your mind. I can now look at some video of my Salome and smile instead of cry. These special dogs will always be in our hearts.
Take care

Dear Darren

Im afraid I was inconsolable after the first few minutes of your tribute to Macy, a beautiful beautiful dog - the sadness too overwhelming at times, as Im sure it is for you. Macy was a fortunate dog to have you in his life, just as you are to have had him in your life - one day it will all mean something, and the puzzle will be clear as to why this had to be.

I appreciate your acknowledgement, more than you know.

Hi Darren,
What a moving tribute - I'm in tears!
Macy was a gorgeous dog, what a special girl who is obviously loved so very much.
It was my pleasure to help you, I knew what you were going through all too well.

I know one day I will lose Millie too - and our lives are forever changed from battling this monster called IMHA.

Thanking for sharing this with us.

Sam and Millie.

PS - Dean is such a cute little boy!

Darren,
A wonderful tribute. Each of us share our own unique special bond with our dogs. You have given all of us meaningful insight into the kind of father you will always be with little Dean.

Penny, no most of those pics were taken at the dog park in Seal Beach. (off of Lampson)...Macy's 2nd favorite spot to, of course, Huntington Dog Beach.

Just wanted to say thank you to Cheryl who made a donation in Macy's name to the Morris Animal Foundation.

It is refreshing to me that good people still exist and I think you are all just amazing. Thank you for the kind words and for taking time out of your lives to not only watch the video, but also make such nice comments.
